APPEALING A MMH DECISION
Mesa Mental Health believes that providers should be afforded the opportunity to question decisions, submit additional information, and have adverse decisions reviewed in accordance with state and federal regulations. Therefore, there is an appeals process available to providers. The process starts by having the member contact Mesa Mental Health to request an appeal. This is usually done in written form. In emergent situations it can be requested by phone.
To initiate the appeals process, please submit the request and any additional information to Mesa Mental Health, Attn: Quality Department, PO Box 90607, Albuquerque, NM 87199-0607 or fax to (505) 816-6702.
Your request for an appeal will be acknowledged with a receipt letter and forwarded to the appropriate person for review and recommendations. You will receive a letter stating the decision and how that decision was reached. If there is additional recourse for the member to take, that also will be identified. Please be aware that if you will be acting as the patient’s representative, written verification from the member will be needed.
